Welcome to Glen Speck

Dear Bobcat Families,

On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to thank you for visiting Glen Speck Elementary School's website, home of the Bobcats. The elementary school years are a particularly exciting time for students, and our “Glen Speck Family” of staff, families, and community members comes together to serve each student’s unique needs and talents.

We hope you are enjoying a quality summer vacation time with your family. In preparation for our Glen Speck Elementary 2026-2027 School Year, I would like to share a few important dates:

Class Assignments: Your child’s teacher (class assignment) will be posted and sent by Parent Square on Aug. 10, 2026.

Meet the Teacher Evening Event: On Wednesday, August 12th, from 5:00-6:30 pm, our families are invited to meet your child’s teacher. From 6:30-7:00 pm, we will have a Parent Title I Meeting and time for Questions & Answers for parents before the first day of school.

First Day of School: August 13th! School starts at 8 am.

Important!

Please update your family's information by completing your Parent Data Confirmation information (PDC) in Aeries starting August 3rd. We would like you to complete the Parent Data Confirmation by August 10th. Our goal is 100% completion at Glen Speck Elementary. This is completed every year for each student. Thank you in advance for completing this information in the Aeries Parent Portal Login. When complete, your child will be on a list for a PBIS prize!

Our school community strives to instill in each child the excitement of learning, where the bar is set high, and academics are aligned to the California State Standards. Our teachers and staff are highly qualified and committed to serving each student's academic, emotional, and physical aspects. Along with other schools in our district, we value character development and teach PBIS throughout. This is interwoven into our daily language and activities.

Important ways to be involved in our school community:

Many great things happen at our school through family and community collaboration. If you would like to be involved at Glen Speck, please consider:

  • Volunteering in the classroom or for special events like field trips or on-campus events
  • Attending our parent meetings and Parent University
  • Attend our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
  • English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)
  • School Site Council (SSC)
  • Steering Committee for our Community School Initiative

Meeting dates and times are listed each month in our weekly newsletter and on our website. We encourage you to fill out a volunteer packet available in our school office. Your involvement makes a tremendous positive difference for students and our school. Indeed, it is one of the cornerstones of our “Glen Speck Family.” We are dedicated to getting to know and meet the needs of every student, and we value your participation and input. Your ideas, suggestions, and involvement help make our school a better place for our students. You are always welcome to stop in and see me, call me at (805) 769-1350, or email me at smwalker@pasoschools.org.

With kind regards and Go Bobcats!

Stephenie Walker, Principal
